Bella Coola Wilderness Adventures | | M. Gurr Lake |
Our land based Bella Coola Wilderness Adventures is ideally located just minutes from the airport on Highway 20 and is accessible by BC Ferries as well. Join us for one of our guided, all inclusive outdoor adventures. Let us take you hiking and backpacking, camping and fishing, wildlife viewing and 4x4 touring into the remote valleys and stupendous mountains of the Bella Coola valley. We offer natural wildlife viewing tours and hiking adventures throughout the Bella Coola Valley and Beyond. Our guided hiking tours range from very easy for seniors and families on nicely groomed trails to vertical rock climbing for the aggressive. The Alexander Mackenzie Heritage Trail is also a challenging trail to explore. | We enjoyed our cottage #2 very much, as we did the beautiful valley for a few days. Thank you Lenny, Michelle & Shannon for providing a rain-proof habitat for us. Two trips up to Odegaard Falls and to McGuir Lake were splendid, both the driver and the hiking at tree level terrain. Can't wait to join you on a Pacific Grizzly excursion. Gerd & Charlotte D. from Riyadh |
 | | A Soothing Soak in Tallheo Hot Springs | We are very fortunate to have three natural Hotsprings in the coastal area producing odorless mineral water at ideal temperatures. These local Hotsprings are considered "Big Medicine" and when you book one of our Marine Tours we would be happy to show you the highlights in the Fjords. Our world renowned Glacial Facial Clay is highly sought after and originates exclusively from this region. The clean mountain air and mild environment of the Coastal Rainforest provides perfect habitat for fish and wildlife to flourish. This Unique Rainforest Eco-system produces a strain of Flora and Fauna that hinges on tropical and is truly a sight to behold. The Natural Habitat coupled with the magnificent scenery offer Unique World Class viewing opportunities. | | Howe Lake & S. Bentinck Arm |
On a clear day your departure flight from Vancouver over the rugged Coast Range is unbelievably breathtaking. As you climb up over the height of land on the pressurized twin engine Beech 99 you experience a close up view of Mt. Waddington's awesome Glaciers and the Monarch Icefields. Mt. Waddington is the highest peak on the Coast Range at over 13,000 feet. A short one hour scenic flight from the South Terminal airport in Vancouver puts you on location in Bella Coola. Your destination is in the heart of the rugged Central Coast mountains and is a natural inland port providing access and departure point to 10,000 km's of coastline, pristine beaches, natural hotsprings and supernatural scenery. | | Mount Stupendous in the Fall. |
Mount Stupendous, Mount Nusatsum, Mount Defiance, Mad Dog Glacier and Thunder Mountain are just some of the Peaks and Glaciers viewed from the valley floor. It has only been just over 200 years since the first white man set foot in this wilderness region of the Pacific Northwest and by European standards this area is still considered Wilderness. With respect to the scenery and wildlife little has changed since Mackenzie and Vancouver arrived and we invite you to come and share the beauty of BC's best kept secret. We have a mapped network of unlimited trails originating from our resort in the Valley. We guide you through ancient towering old growth timber stands to view hundreds of Spawning Pacific Salmon. | | A Salmon Lunch | The Pacific Salmon has traditionally been the lifeline for the people and the Wildlife of the Coast. It is quite invigorating watching the Bears and Eagles fishing for the salmon as they make their way upriver to reproduce. The huge Boar Grizzlies and Sows with Cubs fish in these pristine rivers in August, September, October and November to fatten up for the long Winter. Professional Guides Our local Guides and Naturalists provide the best knowledge of the fish and wildlife and history of the area. For your safety and protection our Wilderness Guides are always armed with at least Bear Spray to ensure your well-being. You will find our staff to be very good camp cooks, courteous and very competent in the field. Licenced by the Ministry of Water, Land and Air Protection and Proud Members of the Guide Outfitters Association of B.C. Some of the most breathtaking scenery in North America is here for you to experience in the beautiful Bella Coola Valley. We invite you to come and share it with us at Bella Coola Grizzly Tours and Adventure Resort.
